Over the coming weeks we have not one, but two digital releases coming out with the help of our friends here at Tunenami!
SU009
The first new release on the schedule is the aforementioned new As Yet To Be Named full length "Keep Me Safe." A lush and swirling noisescape to wet your brain "Keep Me Safe" takes a softer approach to harsh subjects at times, but then hits you in the face at others. From the bombast of "The Ghost of Milton Friedman Haunts New Orleans" to the subtle harmonic explorations of "What Makes the Old Man Cry?" you'll fall in love, in despair, and get angry all at once. A personal favorite and their best record yet. We hope you'll agree.
SU010
Our second release of the new year came as a surprise even to us. Edweird served up an EP's worth of material! "The Lonely Road" is a five song document of space noise to chill out with in the dark dank winter nights. Light a candle and put on the headphones kids!
This all happens in January so keep an eye to this page or the Soiled Utilities main page for further updates.
As Yet To Be Named have set a date to mix the new record: December 15th! This one is going to be much gentler than the last one, but won't lack any of the bite. More lush than the last one, with some of the same political slant. The ghost of Milton Friedman should look out. The album cover is almost complete as well, so expect this to be available sometime around the new year!
Our second spring release is now available! Edweird's first ever solo effort "Weights and Measures" is now available in its entirety from Tunenami. The album is based around sonic experiments with a home built analog synth crammed into a 1950's era geiger counter called The Egon. Further dynamics and atmospheric tones were layered in using bass, drum machine, and theremin. This is technically speaking a "noise" record, but it's certainly not as harsh or as inaccessible as some of that genre would be to the average listener. There is even one track at least that may make you want to dance! Weird indeed. This album is for fans of Throbbing Gristle, Merzbow, KK Null, and Z'ev.
Two new releases from Soiled Utilities Productions are coming in latespring.
SU007 First up will be from a group we've been long associated with, but, have not released anything from until now. The Rustbelt Unsemble has been around in various states since 1997 creating avant-garde soundscapes using both traditional and nontraditional instrumentation. Our first release for them is a live album recorded last fall at Xhedos in Ferndale, Michigan called Leaps and Bounds.
SU008 Our second release is an as yet untitled experimental noise album from Edweird. Armed with an analog synth, a drum machine, a bass, a theremin, and an innate ability to create interesting soundscapes out of happy accidents Edweird has created an albums worth of noise able to ruin any fraternity party on first play. As an added bonus it will make your elderly neighbors wish "them damn kids would go back to listening to that heavy metal crap."
